25 organizations have been selected for the third phase of the sixth edition of Konbit pou Chanjman

Port-au-Prince, HAITI – December 16, 2022: With each edition, the Digicel Foundation continues to see a growing number of applications for its Konbit Pou Chanjman campaign. For this sixth edition, launched in May 2022, the institution was pleased to receive over 700 community project submissions, compared to 591 the previous year. During the first phase of the campaign, the applications were reviewed, and 66 projects were selected for the site visit phase.

Despite current challenges, and thanks to the remarkable work of our field agents, all the selected organizations were successfully visited. Following the analysis of the site visit reports, which highlighted the relevance of the projects and the connection of the organizations with their communities, 25 of these organizations were selected for phase III. The selected projects focus on agriculture, water access, livestock, fishing, and other similar areas.

During this third phase, representatives will have the opportunity to present and defend the merits of their projects before a jury for a chance to receive $10,000 in funding. They will also benefit from several training sessions on organizational governance.

The Digicel Foundation is proud to support community projects that are both practical and have lasting impacts. According to the Foundation’s Executive Director, Sophia Stransky, the positive results from past editions continue to serve as a source of encouragement for the continuation of this initiative, which has already impacted thousands of beneficiaries through the completion of more than 91 projects.

Additionally, the special grant campaign for this sixth edition is ongoing and follows the same steps as the regular campaign. Projects from 10 organizations were selected for site visits, and 3 have been chosen for the final phase. It’s important to note that only previous Konbit Pou Chanjman winners are eligible to participate in this special campaign, either to strengthen their existing projects or to implement a new one. The winner will receive a grant of 15,000 USD.
