Poetry Contest: Scholarships of $1,000 and $1,500 to Win with the Digicel Foundation

Port-au-Prince – February 3, 2023: The Digicel Foundation launched a poetry contest on February 3rd for students and university attendees around the theme: "How youth engagement in their communities can contribute to the country's development."

This initiative is one of many activities celebrating the Foundation's 15 years of commitment in Haiti. Its goal is to encourage writing and reflection on the social involvement of young people.

Contest Guidelines:

1. The participant must be enrolled in a school (NS1-NS4), university, or vocational school in Haiti.
2. The text must be written in Creole or French.
3. The text must be original and unpublished.
4. The text should not exceed 1,000 characters.
5. The participant must include additional information as listed below and send the submission to: fondation.projet@digicelgroup.com.

Information to Attach:

1. A photo ID of the participant.
2. Full name of the participant.
3. Age of the participant.
4. Name and address of the school or institution where the participant is enrolled.
5. Proof of enrollment for the 2022/2023 academic year.
6. Participant's phone number.
7. Participant's email address.

Important Dates:

• Text submissions are accepted until February 17, 2023.
• The best texts will be selected and published on the Digicel Foundation's Facebook and Instagram pages starting February 20, 2023, where the public can vote until March 7, 2023.
• Public votes will account for 40% of the final decision.

Prizes:

• Creole Category (Students): $1,000 USD scholarship.
• Creole Category (University/Professionals): $1,500 USD scholarship.
• French Category (Students): $1,000 USD scholarship.
• French Category (University/Professionals): $1,500 USD scholarship.

The winners in each category will be announced on March 13, 2023.
