Building Jamaica...One Volunteer at a Time
A unique characteristic of the Digicel Foundation is that the volunteers are made up entirely of staff members whom each day give their time and effort selflessly. Our Staff Engagement programme allows our extraordinary Digicel staff members to make a difference in Jamaican communities through monthly volunteering activities.
From the beginning a decision was made that the best people to drive the Digicel Foundation were Digicel staff members themselves.
It was important that communities not only benefit from the financial support of the Digicel Foundation but also from the skills, team work and dedication of the company's extraordinary staff. As such, the Foundation's board is constituted primarily of Digicel employees dedicated to making a difference in Jamaican communities. Additionally, in order to give the larger staff an opportunity to make their contribution, each employee is afforded one paid day off per year at minimum to volunteer in the Foundation's activities.

Making a Difference, One Volunteer at a Time!
Over 140 volunteers including Santa, who are all Digicel staff, assisted us in bringing smiles to children at ten Special Needs schools last Christmas. We are grateful to our volunteers for their invaluable contribution in making a difference!

Salvation Army School for the Blind Fun Day
Every February we celebrate Play Day in Jamaica. This year, our volunteers visited the Salvation Army School for the Blind tp=o engage the children in fun activities.
International Coastal Clean Up Day 2023
Together, our extraordinary volunteers rid the shoreline of over 6,200 pounds of waste. With each piece of litter collected and safely disposed of, we took the opportunity to educate our volunteers on the lasting impact proper garbage disposal has on our environment.
Hope Valley Experimental Special Education Unit Paint Day
Our volunteers were out in their numbers to support the renovation of the Hope Valley Experimental Special Education Unit. Team members primed and painted the school building, chairs, desks and helped to restore the outdoor play area.
